The not so personal Travesty of somebody else.
A friend of a friend is courting a girl,
But this is no happy story;
He loves her and she says that she loves him to,
But this is a lie; she’s a phoney;
I speak you a truth I cannot speak to him,
For he is one who won’t believe me;
As I sat in the library of my own school,
Disgusted I was to see;
The girl that he loved, fooling with others,
Massaging and getting too close;
But worse were the words I overheard,
Of plans, of cruelty gross;
The idea to end the relationship new,
To free her to do "other things" –or;
Somehow make him think he'd dropped her,
His knowledge of this being poor;
I am not the only one,
To witness events such as this;
She dodges the people she knows knows him,
And continues to act "little miss",
But many have seen,
What truly has been,
But are not close enough to tell him;
This story is older than I am,
Of girlfriend cheating on guy;
I barely know him,
But it angers and appals me,
To see her acting so sly;
You can’t tell the truth,
When the truth hurts another,
But you can be there when it's over;
To offer support and revenge,
To the once so joyful lover.

"They're a joke aren't they? It's just lots of middle class people applauding a bunch of guys who act stupid and write really primitive music. Then people say 'oh it's so honest'" - Thom Yorke sums up Oasis.
